CARBON commits to informing and involving the public in its industrial project.

To successfully establish a giga-factory for solar cells and modules in Marseille’s Grand Port Maritime in Fos-sur-Mer, CARBON collaborated with RTE (Réseau de Transport d’Électricité) to approach the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP) in April 2023.

On May 3rd, the CNDP held a plenary session where they reviewed the project dossier. As anticipated, the CNDP ruled in favor of conducting a preliminary consultation to inform and engage various stakeholders.

This preliminary consultation constitutes a crucial phase in CARBON’s project. It will serve as an opportunity to comprehensively present the project to local residents and key actors within the region. The entire team is committed to ensuring that this consultation becomes an authentic forum for open dialogue, promoting the dissemination of information and encouraging active participation

CARBON and RTE, as project owners, have been entrusted by the CNDP to organize the consultation in accordance with Article R.121-8 of the Environmental Code. The precise details and procedures of the consultation will be determined in the near future by the CNDP, which has already appointed two mediators to oversee the process.
