Enerfip and CARBON Launch a Groundbreaking Crowdfunding Campaign

On April 2, Enerfip, the leading responsible investment platform dedicated to the energy transition in France and Europe, and CARBON will launch a unique crowdfunding campaign. For the first time, an industrial project of this scale is opening its capital to the general public, with the goal of raising at least one million euros. This funding will contribute to the emergence of a sovereign solar industry in France and Europe. The subscription period will run until April 20.

A Unique Opportunity to Support the Energy Transition

Participating in this initiative means supporting a local and sustainable industry by directly contributing to the growth of clean energy production in France and Europe. It is also an opportunity to join a collective movement where citizens and industry players unite to build a more sovereign and resilient energy future.

“This citizen fundraising campaign is, above all, a response to strong public demand. CARBON’s mission—to reindustrialize France while accelerating the energy transition—resonates particularly in a context where energy sovereignty and the fight against climate change have become top priorities,” says Pierre-Emmanuel Martin, President and co-founder of CARBON.

An Innovative Financing Model

This fundraising initiative is based on a mechanism traditionally reserved for solar project developers, now applied to a strategic industrial infrastructure.

The funds raised will finance two major projects: a photovoltaic panel assembly plant in the Aix-Marseille metropolitan area, set to be operational by mid-2026. This facility will produce up to one million solar panels per year and create 200 direct, long-term jobs. Additionally, a gigafactory in Fos-sur-Mer is planned for completion by the end of 2027. This facility will cover the entire industrial solar value chain, from wafer to module, playing a key role in French and European industrial independence.

“This campaign marks a turning point in participatory financing for the energy transition. Until now, citizens have mainly financed renewable energy production projects. Today, we are giving them the opportunity to invest directly in structuring a European solar industry, which is essential for our energy independence,” says Julien Hostache, President and co-founder of Enerfip.

Strong Support from the Solar Sector

Beyond citizen investment, this initiative has received significant backing from the solar industry. In parallel with the crowdfunding campaign, 10 independent solar power producers and two specialized consulting firms have pledged support totaling two million euros. Among them are major players such as CVE Group, IEL, Irisolaris, Langa International, Provence Eco Énergie, Sépale, Silversun, Synapsun, Technique Solaire, Tenergie, Terre et Lac, and Wewise. Together, these companies have 4 GWc of projects in operation and nearly 1.3 GWc planned for 2025.

With this initiative, Enerfip and CARBON are paving a new path for participatory financing. By directly involving citizens, this model fosters the emergence of a strong, sustainable, and sovereign solar industry in Europe, offering a unique opportunity to invest in the future of energy.
