CARBON Lab: signing of the lease agreement for construction
On Wednesday, October 16, Nicolas Chandellier, CEO of CARBON, was joined by Christian Amiraty, advisor to the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis in charge of Heritage and Real Estate Policy, to sign a promise of lease for construction on a plot of land located in Istres, adjacent to Miramas. This marks a significant step in the realization of the CARBON Lab project.
A Significant Step Forward
This signature represents a significant advancement in the project, keeping us on schedule: starting in 2027, this site will become a center for innovation and excellence in support of CARBON’s other sites: the photovoltaic giga-factory in Fos-sur-Mer and the pilot unit, CARBON PWT, in Bourgoin-Jallieu.
Technological Innovation at the Heart of CARBON’s Industrial Project
CARBON places technological innovation at the core of its industrial project, dedicating at least 3% of its annual revenue to it. The Istres site will host:
- CARBON’s R&D center focused on production processes and photovoltaic products.
- A center of excellence that will also include some of our training activities.
In the second phase, the site will transform into the Solar Campus, a true totemic place, a forum for meetings and exchanges, and a nerve center for the entire solar industry.
CARBON thanks the State, the Aix-Marseille-Provence Metropolis, and the municipalities of Istres and Miramas for their unwavering support in the success of this project.
