{"id":3010,"date":"2024-11-22T15:16:29","date_gmt":"2024-11-22T14:16:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carbon-solar.com\/?p=3010"},"modified":"2024-11-22T15:18:32","modified_gmt":"2024-11-22T14:18:32","slug":"the-ministry-of-the-economy-reaffirms-its-support-for-a-sustainable-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carbon-solar.com\/en\/carbonnews\/carbonnews-carbonnews\/the-ministry-of-the-economy-reaffirms-its-support-for-a-sustainable-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"The Ministry of the Economy reaffirms its support for a sustainable industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><em>On November 14th, following <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lemonde.fr\/planete\/article\/2024\/11\/13\/budget-un-amendement-pour-un-soutien-de-1-55-milliard-d-euros-a-la-decarbonation-de-l-industrie_6391000_3244.html\">the announcement<\/a> of \u20ac1.55 billion in support for the decarbonization of industry as part of the 2025 budget, <strong>Antoine Armand<\/strong>, Minister of the Economy, accompanied by <strong>Marc Ferracci<\/strong>, Minister of Industry, and <strong>Olga Givernet<\/strong>, Minister of Energy, visited <strong>Fos-sur-Mer<\/strong>, one of the largest industrial zones in the country.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Three priorities for a sustainable industry<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>During this visit, the government reaffirmed three key strategic priorities to address industrial and climate challenges:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Modernize production methods.<\/li>\n<li>Strengthen energy sovereignty.<\/li>\n<li>Address climate challenges.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\ud83d\udc49 These goals are central to <a href=\"https:\/\/carbon-solar.com\/en\/ambition\/\">CARBON&#8217;s project<\/a> to build the European leader in the solar industry.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>CARBON, a key player in industrial and energy transition<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>During this visit, <strong>Pierre-Emmanuel Martin<\/strong>, President of <strong>CARBON<\/strong>, presented the company&#8217;s ambitious project for the revival of the photovoltaic sector in Europe. He outlined the industrial structure of the project, based on three main pillars:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A <strong>5 GWc <a href=\"https:\/\/carbon-solar.com\/solutions\/\">gigafactory<\/a><\/strong> in <strong>Fos-sur-Mer (13)<\/strong>, integrating all stages of manufacturing and scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.<\/li>\n<li>A <strong>500 MWc module production unit<\/strong> at <a href=\"https:\/\/carbon-solar.com\/en\/carbonnews\/carbonnews-carbonnews\/photowatt-joins-the-carbon-project\/\">Photowatt <\/a>in <strong>Bourgoin-Jallieu (38)<\/strong>, which will serve as the first phase of the industrial project, set to begin operations by the end of 2025.<\/li>\n<li>An <strong>innovation and excellence center, <a href=\"https:\/\/carbon-solar.com\/en\/carbonnews\/carbonnews-carbonnews\/carbon-lab-signing-of-the-lease-agreement-for-construction\/\">CARBON Lab<\/a><\/strong>, in <strong>Istres (13)<\/strong>, which will host <strong>R&amp;D and training activities<\/strong> starting in 2027.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This project aligns with efforts to strengthen energy sovereignty and support the transition to renewable energy. Pierre-Emmanuel Martin also expressed his gratitude to the elected officials and partners who have supported the project from the outset, including <strong>Christophe Castaner<\/strong>, <strong>Christophe Mirmand<\/strong>, <strong>Isabelle Campagnola Savon<\/strong>, <strong>R\u00e9gis Passerieux<\/strong>, <strong>Ren\u00e9 Raimondi<\/strong>, and partners like <strong>PIICTO<\/strong>, <strong>UIMM<\/strong>, <strong>GMIF<\/strong>, and <strong>Upe 13<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Progress on the Fos-sur-Mer gigafactory project<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>The <strong>Fos-sur-Mer gigafactory<\/strong> project has made significant strides over the past 18 months:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Successful public debate<\/strong>: After six months of consultation with the five affected municipalities, the project received<a href=\"https:\/\/carbon-solar.com\/en\/carbonnews\/carbonnews-carbonnews\/carbon-presents-its-commitments-following-the-preliminary-consultation-for-the-gigafactory-project-in-fos-sur-mer\/\"> a favorable opinion from the CNDP<\/a> (National Commission for Public Debate).<\/li>\n<li><strong>National recognition<\/strong>: The CARBON project was designated a <a href=\"https:\/\/carbon-solar.com\/en\/carbonnews\/carbonnews-carbonnews\/carbons-gigafactory-obtains-the-status-of-major-national-interest-project\/\">Major National Interest Project<\/a> by decree on July 3, 2024.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Construction authorization<\/strong>: The necessary authorizations for the <strong>270,000 m\u00b2<\/strong> site at <strong>GPMM<\/strong> are expected to be granted by January 2025, allowing construction to begin in the first half of 2025.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Environmental commitment<\/strong>: The project received a favorable opinion from the <strong>National Commission for the Protection of Nature<\/strong>, ensuring compliance with environmental standards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On November 14th, following the announcement of \u20ac1.55 billion in support for the decarbonization of industry as part of the 2025 budget, Antoine Armand, Minister of the Economy, accompanied by [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":6,"featured_media":3007,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"categories":[55],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-3010","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-carbonnews-carbonnews"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.1.1 -
